Rickie Traeger: Been a few days since I last posted

  • Rickie

Been a few days since I last posted. Hopefully everyone has been doing good.

I went to an Icehogs game the other night. That was fun. I don’t get into hockey much, but it was still fun. Got to go into the players tunnel and briefly meet them as they went onto the ice. Pretty cool experience. Got to see Jeff too 🙂

Sources sent information on a scene that happened last night in Winnebago. And we waited many hours before posting it, to see if police would release any information on it. They did not, so we posted the information that was provided to us.  People got mad as heck at us for posting it!  I can only post the information that IS provided to me. Plain and simple. Police did not release any information and are encrypted.  So I only had the information that was provided to me at the time, and posted it. Holy cow, tons of first responders got mad as heck at me. Was not my fault the police did not release any information on it, until after we posted it.  We waited and tried to get the info. confirmed before posting it. But as usual it was met with silence. Funny how quickly they responded though, after it was posted. Before it was posted, SILENCE. After it was posted, they were quick to release the information then. Funny how that works…  But the good news is, the people involved are reported to be OK. And RS got even more popular via all the haters, LOL.  As they say, keep on hating cuz all your doing is making RS famous.

I will keep saying it: The best advertisers are always going to be the haters, lol.  They scream loudly and peaks many peoples interest.  The traffic spikes were pretty sweet earlier, thanks to them, LOL.   I think haters are one track minded and don’t realize how much they help, when in their heads they think they are hurting, LOL.  The best free advertisers, are always going to be haters 🙂

Snow is on the way.  Guess we been spoiled long enough. Guess it is time for winter again 🙁  lol.

Rickie Traeger: Merry Christmas

I first and foremost want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Yes, I am a day late. But better late than never, lol.

I wasn’t around much, so I wasn’t able to post it.   I do apologize.

We had a good Christmas. Family Time!   🙂

Family time is priceless.  That is by far the best present anyone can get.   It is the simple things in life that I enjoy most.  Sending quality time with family and friends = Priceless.  So we had a good Christmas.

I went out to the cemetery and visited almost everyone.   We have had some great weather as well. I mean heck on Halloween we were bundled up in 7 layers walking though a bunch of snow. On Christmas we were were t-shirts and light jackets.  Hmmmmm, LOL.   I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Rickie Traeger: Happy Christmas Week, Stay Safe And Enjoy Christmas!

Hope everyone has a good week this week.  It is Christmas week!  Hard to believe it is already Christmas!  It don’t feel like Christmas, because the warm temps and no snow, LOL.   I am not complaining though.  Definitely will take this weather anytime of the winter season!

So what are your plans for this week?

I am not sure how much i will be around this week, for obvious reasons. So my site may or may not be updated. So just heads up.

I been trying to get back into IRacing again.  They added some new content 🙂    I just finished acing off road trucks, just before I popped on here.

As I am typing this, someone just crashed into the river near the airport.  Hopefully they get out safely. Reports are saying the vehicle is occupied and is sinking 🙁

I am going to pop off here and do some RS stuff.  Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Christmas week!

Rickie Traeger: New Baby Traeger is Born

I  want to say congratulations to my Brother and his girlfriend!

They had a baby boy last night. 7 lbs and 10 oz.   They have not named him yet.

So I am a proud uncle of a new baby boy Traeger!

Rickie Traeger: As We Complain About The Cold , Many Have No Choice But To Live Outside In It

  • Rickie

As we complain that it is cold outside, most of us are spoiled and have our own warm houses to live in. Some people out there do not have this luxury option because of various reasons.

There are many homeless people in and around the area.  They are stuck living out in these cold weather conditions.

They have to live in this cold weather.  While many of us go into our nice warm houses.

So when you are nice and toasty chilling on your cell phones or PC’s reading this, just remember there are many people and families that are out there that do not have this luxury, warmth.

So please keep those people and families that are out in this cold weather in your thoughts and prayers, and if possible help them. You can donate stuff to the local shelters.  Miss Carly’s, Rockford Rescue Mission, Carpenters Place, Etc… I am sure they will gladly accept your donations, that will help with the homeless during the cold weather (And probably all year around)

Things such as gloves, hats, coats, socks, shoes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, hairbrushes, toilet paper, scarfs, food, water, etc…   Anything that will help, I am sure they will accept it to assist the homeless.

Thankfully there are a few places that are able to assist the homeless during the cold weather.

I have did a search online and came across a few places and links that I have listed below:

Winter Storm Preparedness Tips Provided by IEMA

 Winter storm tips for home

  • Make sure your Emergency Kit is stocked and winter storm ready.
  • Use sand to improve traction and apply products that melt ice on walkways.
  • Make sure you have sufficient heating fuel. Regular fuel sources may be cut off.
  • Keep emergency heating equipment and fuel so you can keep at least one room of your house warm enough to be livable.
  • Keep fire extinguishers on hand, and make sure your family knows how to use them.
  • Winterize your home to extend the life of your fuel supply. Insulate walls, attics, doors, and windows.
  • Install storm windows or cover windows with plastic.
  • Do not overexert yourself or work outside for extended periods of time.

Winter storm tips for traveling

  • Make sure your car is in good operating condition before using it in extreme cold.
  • Keep condensation (water) out of your gas tank by keeping the tank as full as possible.
  • Maintain a storm kit in your car with such items as a cell phone and charger; blankets; extra clothing; jumper cables; a flashlight; extra batteries; high-calorie, non-perishable food; and matches or a lighter.
  • Plan your trip carefully. If cold, snowy, or icy conditions exceed your ability or your car’s ability, don’t travel. If you must travel be cautious.
  • Tell someone about your travel plans.
  • Never leave the motor running in a vehicle parked in an enclosed or partially enclosed space, such as a garage.

Note/Edit:  Never fails, LOL.  Someone always has to twist things around. A positive post about helping the homeless, some are trying to spin it. SMH…    Seems like every-time I do a positive post, there is always someone out there that wants to spin it for the bad. That is what is wrong with the world these days. You try to do something positive, and you have a negative nancy out there to spin it.  I swear everytime, LMFAO.   Never fails…

Rickie Traeger: How Hard Is It For Some To Grasp A Simple Concept?

As many of you know I work things a 2 way street.

The ball is always in your court, how you come at me is how I am going to respond back

You keep talking smack, I am going to keep making your stuff public.

I guess you are too egoistic to even grasp the simple concept of a 2 way street?

Don’t bother me any, because when you talk smack not only do you make me famous, but you also look stupid and you do not help your cause.

As they say, just saying…

P.S. Yes, I know this don’t help me look any better.
But maybe if I am direct, some people might grasp a simple concept, lol.

Rickie Traeger: 520, Mortal Kombat & Payday 2, Charleston Chew!

Good evening everyone!

Hope everyone had a warm and safe weekend!

I got some Christmas shopping done over the weekend. And kicked back to relax for the most part.  I been playing Payday 2 and Mortal Kombat XL over the weekend.  I so am not good at Mortal Kombat, LOL.   Got beaten many times. I thought I was good, guess I was wrong, lol.   I used to be very good at it on the snes. Darn good at it.  Not these days i guess, LOL.

I talked on the radio awhile on Saturday. Was able to talk to some on the 520.  It is usually hit or miss with that freq.  On the weekends, it is better to make contacts on there than on the weekday. I think cuz many more people are near the radio on the weekends.  I was able to rx pretty far though, I think the band might have been open some 🙂

My wife bought me a charelston chew candybar 🙂    I have been looking all over for one, for awhile now and no one sells them anymore. Or at least every place I have been to, to buy one. And I have been to many places, lol.  They sell the boxed small chews, and not the actual candy bars. But somehow she found me one! 🙂

I am going to pop off here and work on the website some. I am trying to learn a few things, reading up on the documentations of some stuff. Before I actually make some changes. I used to never look at instructions or the documentation stuff. But as I get older, I am doing it more and more. And kinda kicking myself in the rear for not doing so earlier, lol. You learn a ton from it 🙂

Rickie Traeger: Happy Friday The 13th

Guess what day it is?   Noooooo, Not that day, LOL.    It is Friday the 13th!

It is not going to be a good day for all the people who are superstitious lol.

So I think it is safe to say, everyone stay safe out there today, LOL.

Rickie Traeger: Triple Shoe Mount, Photography Upgrades

Holy donkey balls is it cold outside!

I will keep saying it, I hate winter, LOL.   On a serious note though it is cold out there. So please bundle up if you do plan on going outside.

I got a piece of equipment that will help me with working scenes. In the past, I was only able to use only 1 attachment at a time. Either a microphone or a light. This new piece of equipment is a triple shoe mount. I can add 3 items at one time, and use them all at once 🙂   So now the video and audio is going to be a lot better.  I am thinking about adding a cell mount to it, so I can put the cell on there while I do live videos and it be mounted.   So overall the quality of the videos are going to be way better 🙂

I plan on adding another piece of equipment that will also improve the quality of the videos and photos as well. I don’t plan on getting that for awhile though.  It is a gimbel. So I can be mobile and be steady. Instead of being steady only on a tripod.  I think it will greatly improve some content.  Being able to walk around and video, while being stable.  Instead of having to move and put down the tripod, move and put down the tripod, etc.. lol.

Rickie Traeger: Happy Monday! Messing Around On The Website, Police Scanner…

Good morning everyone!

Hopefully everyone had a safe weekend.  Hate to be the bearer of the bad news though. It is now Monday, and the weather is about to get cold 🙁

You have permission to hate me for a few minutes, for bringing you that bad news, LOL.

So I am about to experiment a bit on here with the design and stuff on the website.  I normally live by the motto if it is not broken then don’t try to fix it.  And I should do that now, lol.  But I am in an experimenting mood, so I am going to play around a bit on here and change the layouts and stuff.  See what I like and don’t like.  I am going to do that after I write this up.  So let’s see how my Monday starts off, LOL.

If anyone has a desktop police scanner, they want to get rid of. Let me know. I am looking for a desktop scanner.  Prefer a model that is similar in size to a Pro-197 if possible.

Speaking of scanners.  I saw Walmart was selling the Whistler 1010 for only $20.   And people are trying to sell them online for $120….WTF
EBAY~ CLICK HERE

Walmart- CLICK HERE

I understand people wanting to make money, but WTF…

I am popping off here. Everyone stay safe and stay dry and I should add Happy Monday!
