365 Project

My 365 Project

Here you will view my 365 project. Bear with the page might be slow loading, due to the fact there will be 365 photos by the time I get done with this project.

What is a 365 project?  A 365 project is where a person takes one photo a day, for 365 days. Which is a photo a day for a complete year.  You are probably asking what is the point of that. Photographers do this project, to keep motivated and to explore new ideas and practice the shooting techniques. And I am sure there are many other reasons to why people do this project.

Most have themes.  My theme will be a generalized theme. How I feel that day. I want to practice different angles, lighting, settings, locations, etc… I want to be able to explore more with a camera. Use the camera like I have never used it before. Go beyond my comfort zone and just have fun.  Some photos may be just blah, while others might me jaw dropping. Photographer have their good days and their bad days.  And with my theme, I am sure you will see some of my worst photos. Why, because I will be experimenting beyond my comfort zone. When a photographer does this, who knows what the results will be.

Update: I have to switch the 365 project over to a 52 week project. With recent struggles with family life and battling the flu, I have not been able to keep up on the 365 project.  So I have decided to make it a 52 week project. A 52 week project, is one photo a week, for one year. Pretty much like the 365 project,  but only one photo a week.  This way I am able to dedicate and accomplish the goal.  I hate changing this project to the 52 week project, but I have no choice, due to me missing several days due to personal and health problems.

Day 1

Day 1: “Life is nothing but a melody” We live by the melody we sing. Rather its a soft tune or a hardcore tune, everyone listens to our melodies. My melody today is just a blah and dark melody with shaded edges, so I can avoid being seen. Today is a black and white melody with no tones at all.

Day 1: Life is nothing but a melody

Day 2

Day 2: “Center of Desire”  There is some things in life we like. Then there are other things in life we desire.  We need to  follow those desires in life, otherwise you will never get that second chance. I stood up and chased one of my desires in life. And this is where it has brought me. To the center of desire.

Day 2 : Center of Desire

Day 3

Day 3: “The sweeter the apple, the blacker the core.”  When I was eating this apple pie, this quote I read awhile back ago, popped into my head. It reminded me of how sweet a person can be, but yet at the same time so evil and vindictive they truly are on the inside. So, if you meet someone nice, odds are their apple is truly dark on the inside.

Day 3: "The sweeter the apple, the blacker the core."

Day 4

Day 4: “Dreams”  As many of you know one of my favorite games to play is Flight Simulator X. Well I flew out of my local airport, (KRFD) and I took this screenshot. It is me departing during sunset, with the power plant in the background. A hell of a background. But it reminded me of how much I want to fly in real life.  One of my dreams in life, is to fly. I am a huge aviation lover, but have yet to fly. So, this theme came to me. “Dreams”  Because it is my dream to fly.

Day 4

Day 5

Day 5 : ” Like a Rockstar” My daughter was chilling in her seat playing with her toys, in her Chicago Bears outfit and sunglasses. And I was taking photos of her, and she reminded me of a rockstar. She is definitely my rockstar!

Day 5: Like a Rockstar

Day 6

Day 6: “Dreams Come True”    Ever since I have heard of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, one of my dreams has been to photograph it.  Well today, my dream has came true. I got to photograph the Boeing 787 Dreamliner as it flew into the Rockford Airport (KRFD). My dream came true!

Day 6: "Dreams Come True"

Day 7

Day 7: “Many Smiles”  I figured this would be a good photo, because there are many things to smile about in life.

Day 7: "Many Smiles"

Day 8

Day 8″ “Which Ace Are You?”  I sat here thinking about life today and how people have effected me and why.  And I thought to myself, which ace am I, to others? And came up with this concept. Many people see things in black and white, which is why I made it monochrome. And I am a kind and caring person, which makes me the Ace of Hearts. So my question to you, What ace are you?

Day 8: "Which Ace Are You?"

Day 9

Day 9: “Favorite things in life”  I decided to do a video, for my 365 project, instead of a photo. I could have done several photos today, but figured a video would be better. I know 365 project is meant for photography, but hell, I decided to mix it up a bit.  So, heres my day 9 video.  ”Favorite things in life”  This game, Flight Simulator X, is my favorite game. I play it almost daily. So here was a flight I did with the F-18, messing around the Rockford area.

Day 10

Day 10 “My Joystick”  I had to do a quick photo before it hit midnight, and I am currently playing the game FSX. So I figured the closest thing to me is the joystick, so that will be the photo of the day. Just one of the spur of the moment things. This is by far my favorite joystick i use for FSX. As many of you know, I fly FSX almost daily. So, needless to say, this joystick is well used, lol. So it is “My Joystick”

Day 10: "My Joystick"

Day 11

Day 11: “Emergency”   I did this photo, because it day “11″ reminded me of the Sept. 11th 2001 event. So, if there is ever an emergency here in our area, we will know the emergency numbers and who to contact.  I named it “Emergency” because if you have to dial any of these numbers, you obviously have an emergency.

Day 12

Day 12: “Fields”  I do not like landscapes photography in winter, everything is so blah looking.  Today I went on a hike at Rock Cut, and took this photo. It reminded me of all the different “fields” in life we choose to live in.

Day 13

Day 13: “Fog of Illusions”  This morning was really foggy outside, so I thought it would be a good thing to try to photograph.  But as you can see it is night time and foggy, a difficult thing to photograph. So as my 365 project theme, is to go beyond my comfort zones and experiment. And this is what I got.  ”Fog of Illusions”

Day 14

Day 14: “Peace Within”  I was out at Rock Cut today and pretty much what you see here is what it actually looked like. The sun was setting behind me, over the lake. The ice was covering parts of the lake and the wildlife relaxing near the open water. It reminded me of “Peace Within”  because of how quiet and beautiful the scenery was. The sounds of the birds as they chirped to one another.  A jet soaring across the sky and the moon just above the jet. And everything was just at peace.

Start of the 52 week project

Week #1 out of 52 ~ Not everyday you get to see the charter jet for the Chicago bulls and Colorado Rockies!  But yes,  I was able too!

Week #2 of 52

I went for a walk out at Rock Cut earlier, and seen this and knew this was going to be my photo of the week.

Week 3 of 52

Week #3 of 52 ~ Sobriety, Whats that?

Week #4 of 52

Week #4 of 52 ~ The moon, Venus & Jupiter all in one.  Nothing like looking up into the night sky to see these beauties, all in one.

Week #5 of 52

Week #5 of 52 ~ Spring is right around the corner. I am getting excited!

Week #6 of 52

Week #6 of 52 “Spring”  On my hike, I came across this spring. The snow had melted in this warm weather and this spring was a perfect photo for my project. It was a spring, showing us that spring is around the corner!

Week #7 of 52

Week #7 of 52 “Serenity”  I was out hiking yesterday, and  I knew this was going to be my photo of the week.  I was in awe when I seen it. During the same day, I also got an awesome sunset photo as well. But I decided to choose this one, because it is more at peace. And that is what we are all looking for in life, is peace.

Week #8 of 52

Week #8 of 52   “Eerie Memories”  This is a photo I took the other day while I was on a hike out at Rock Cut State Park.  This place brings back so many memories from when I was younger.  From good times to eerie times.

Week #9 of 52

Week #9 of 52   I had a weather theme set for this week, but I was lucky enough to photograph the KC-135 doing some touch and go’s at the Rockford Airport (KRFD/RFD) yesterday. I knew this photo was going to be my photo of the week.  I was kinda surprised to see how fast it was landing, even doing a touch and go.
