Rickie Traeger: Tuesday, April 21 blog

Good morning everybody.

I reinstalled the Dragon software, so bear with me if there are any grammar errors.

I want to sit there and say thank you to everyone who sent their prayers and positive vibes to my grandma. She is out of the hospital and doing well. I can’t sit there and say thank you enough for everyone who sent their prayers and positive vibes.

My FT – 450 D has an issue. When I go to turn the frequency dial, the frequency skips around or does not move at all when I twist the dial. The dial twist fine, so I’m confident that it is an electronic issue. A few people told me to open it up and see if the screws are loose. So I think after I get done writing this I will now open it up and see. Wish me luck!

Speaking of HF, band conditions have been all over the place lately. At times it’s almost all quieting an earlier today it was S9 plus. I haven’t made any contacts on HF in a while. I was trying to over the weekend but I didn’t have any luck. So hopefully band conditions improve and I can sit there and talk and HF.

Again I apologize for any grammar or typo errors. I just reinstalled the Dragon software and is trying to get used to my voice for the accuracy. I can clearly see that it is doing pretty good overall but there are some errors. I would go back and correct them but I will leave them as is. I know a few people out there are grammar Nazis so I will keep it up just for them, LOL.

Going tto pop off here I just wanted to make a quick blog and say thank you to everybody

Rickie Traeger: April 1st Blog

I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful April 1st!

As many of you know I enjoy listening to a lot of talk shows these days. Coast to Coast AM, Fade to Black, Etc…  Well they brought up an interesting point. And I figured I would put it in my blog.  This is one of their opinions and in a way I kinda share it. Hence why I am posting about it.

We have been pretty much on lock down for awhile now. They said the pollution levels have declined a lot on Earth since this shelter in place has taken effect. Which is a darn good thing!  I am beyond glad the pollution levels have dropped a lot! But then they brought up a theory.

What if Earth has adapted to all the pollution and gasses and other things?  And now that the pollution levels are dropping, could that effect how Earth and its climate changes or improves or worsens?  What if this happens to bring on the next ice age?  Yes, that was a far fetched idea they tossed out there. But we can not rule out that possibility. Because Earth has not had this happen. So what could this mean for Earth and other things?

In all honesty I hope that it improves Earth and our climate and atmosphere.  Less pollution means more fresh air. Cleaner waters. And just a healthy Earth overall. I hope scientists are really studying how Earth is going through these times, and seeing what it does and does not do.  Maybe we can learn something good, out of a bad situation.

I just wanted to post about their opinions because I was thinking about it.  How will the Earth adapt to these changes?  That is a good question that we should all be observing!

I have reinstalled Bionic for Seti@Home. But they shut down their servers a few hours before I reinstalled it.  If I had known that, I would of waited to reinstall it lol. But now it has some more options on there besides the Seti@Home. So i chose some other options to run on it. All astronomy stuff 🙂   If they can use my PC power to help learn things in the universe, then more power to them. I have gladly helped for almost 2 decades now, and will continue to do so for many more decades to go!

Stay safe everyone 🙂

Rickie Traeger: March 2nd Blog

Happy Monday!

I was scanning the band earlier tonight and heard a GMRS net.  That was the first time I have heard that. Sounded like most of them were to the North of me.  But holy cow it was cool hearing the GMRS being used, and used properly.   I have my license for the GMRS, but never hear anything on it. So it was cool just hearing something on it!

Sooooooooooooo I missed the Walking Dead.  I am about to watch the re-run of it.  Sounds like it was a good episode and I missed alot.  I guess here shortly, I will find out!   It is weird seeing Dani from Hocus Pocus on the Walking Dead.  And I am still getting used to the new cast. It is like a whole new show in itself, because like 98% of the original cast is gone 🙁

I been wanting to go for a hot air balloon ride.  Anyone know where I can do that locally?  I know it will be a bit before that happens, because it is still cold out. But I want to look into it and start planning it, so when it does get warm enough I can do it.  Also, Skydiving.  But i think I know in Beloit and Rochelle offer those 🙂

Rickie Traeger: Is My Vehicle Haunted Or A Heck Of A Coincidence???

Starting to wonder if my vehicle may possibly be haunted or if it is just a heck of a coincidence???

You are probably asking yourself, WTF???     LOL

My vehicle broke down earlier tonight.  It broke down at the same place, same exact spot that last few times it has broke down.
I think it is weird that it breaks down at the same intersection at the same spot.    I mean WTF???
So is my vehicle haunted or a heck of a coincidence???  That is the question of the day, lol.

On a more serious note I want to give a shout out to Cruz Towing 815-988-8888 for coming to save me!  He is a dam good tow truck driver and a hell of a nice man. I highly recommend Cruz Towing.  He has treated me right over the years.  And everytime I break down, he  is there to help.  Thank You!

So you are probably asking yourself, well what is wrong with the vehicle?  If not, I know I am sure thinking that question! LOL.
If the code reader is correct, then it should be a simple fix.   It is reporting the code P0102, which is the MAF. So I am hoping that is the actual cause. Because I can start off by cleaning it, to see if that makes a difference. And if not I found the part on RockAuto for only $40 plus shipping and taxes.  And it should be simple to fix.

But now with all that being said……  NOTHING is ever simple when you are working with vehicles!
