black friday

Rickie Traeger: Good morning Monday

  • Rickie

Hopefully everyone is doing well and have been out enjoying the beautiful weather we have been having!  Hard to believe it is November already and these warm temps. I hope this is what the whole winter will be like. But something tells me different, lol.

So I was just browsing online and saw that the Black Friday stuff is different this year because of Covid.  The stores are having deals all month long, instead of people standing in long lines and the chance of possibly spreading covid.  Which I kinda like to see, the deals all month long.  I see a few advantages of it.

#1 Don’t spread covid.

#2 Excellent marketing. Drives people to the website often, looking for the new deals.

#3 Safer.

#4 Deals all month instead of standing in long lines dealing with cranky people.

#5 Some new and different and I like the idea!

Rickie Traeger: Black Friday……… Bring Back Z-Nation! Project Blue Book :)

I hope everyone is having a safe and wonderful weekend!

So what was your thoughts on your Black Friday experience?

Mine:  Retailers should be ashamed of themselves!   I saw many places doing the following tactics. I been keeping my eyes on several items and planned on buying them for Black Friday.  So I know what the prices have been for some time now.

Well………  I waited until black Friday to get a “deal” on them.

The retailers RAISED THE PRICES UP A LOT on the items.

Then saying heres the Black Friday “deal”  and that “deal” was either AT or ABOVE the prices the items I have been watching, prices BEFORE Black Friday.

Example: Canon Powershot SX530  Normally goes for around $200-$230.  Walmart price before Black Friday was $245.   For Black Friday they said the retail price was $479, but the Black Friday “deal” was $250.  So much for that deal………  And a day after Black Friday it is $249.

But I saw this happening by several retailers on several items.  SMFH

I did see a few deals on some items, so to be fair I did see a few deals.  But it sure is nothing like it used to be awhile back ago.  When you really got the deals on alot of items, and you actually got a good deal on the items. Nothing like that these days.  When I worked in retail in the past, I learned some of their marketing tactics.  And one of them was to say you have a deal on this item. And make it appear there are several of them in stock. But they ONLY PUT 1 IN STOCK.  So they can draw you there to the store on that deal. And when you get there it has been since long gone because only 1 was in stock, and they can legally say they had that deal on the item, all while drawing you to their store.

I lost a lot of respect for retailers because of their marketing tactics. Reminds me alot like politicians. They lie to you, to get what benefits them…

Time to change themes here now, LOL.   I am super excited!  Project Blue Book is coming back on TV!  I am like really excited. I love that show.  Speaking of tv shows though, Walking Dead is now off until February. I kinda hate this mid season finale crap. But in another way, it kinda nice to draw the season out some through out the year.  I wish Z-Nation was back on tv!  I miss that show.  It did a lot of stuff walking dead wouldn’t of said or do. Bring back Z-Nation!
