1962 Volkswagon Bus Scale 1/32

Good morning everyone!

Hopefully everyone is still staying safe and healthy!

My daughter and I went on a hike out at the park the other day.

She found a 1962 Volkswagon Bus scale 1/32 near the creek.    Looked like it had been in the creek for years.  She brought it home and I cleaned it up some.  I took this photo of it.  Pretty good photo, for being a cell phone photo.

We hiked a few trails for a bit.  I had to take a photo of this landscape. It reminded me of the movie “IT” with Pennywise.

We went over by the dam area of the park.  While we were there we got to meet and watch some professional wakeboarders.  JB ONeill and some of his friends were in town doing a film and promo.  https://www.youtube.com/user/jboneill They were actually filming when we went down to meet them.  They were very friendly.  They explained they were in town doing a promo and filming.  I took a video of them wakeboarding down the dam.    It was pretty cool to watch them!  My daughter and I enjoyed watching them wakeboard, and was cool seeing them wakeboard down the dam. Did I also mention they were using a drone to film 🙂   I asked them how deep the water was there, they said they could touch the bottom.  I had always thought it was way deeper than that.

I was able to get my 2 meter ham radio back on the air yesterday. I am back on the air again! 🙂

I haven’t checked the SWR on it yet, so I am not going to be on it much until I get the SWR checked on my antenna.  But I am back on the air, thats is the main thing.  It will probably be awhile before I get back on HF though 🙁    But hey, at least I am back on 2m 🙂

Rickie Traeger: Just wanted to give everyone a heads up

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

Server is running slower than normal.

So you may have to wait a few extra seconds for it to load.

We have some of the best in the world IT techs investigating the issue and tracing it back.

Hopefully the problem will be resolved soon.

If not, please bear with me in the meantime on the slower than normal load times.

Rickie Traeger: July 20th

Good morning everyone!

Hopefully everyone had a safe and cool weekend.   It did get pretty warm after the storms rolled through the area.

I went out and mowed the lawn yesterday.  I figured it be some good exercise to mow the lawn in the heat.  I tell you one thing, it was a hot one, lol.

I been craving watermelon and bbq lately.  I was able to get a few slices of watermelon yesterday!  OMG, delicious!!!   Now to the next goal, some good bbq!  🙂

I spent 3 or 4 hours yesterday scheduling random songs for the FB page. 1 song a day for next few months.  Some local artists, some random songs and some of my favorites. I think people need some positivity in their lives. And what better way then music!  So I scheduled 1 song a day for the next few months. So people can listen to a large variety of music. Maybe give people an opportunity to listen to a genre that they normally wouldn’t. Just giving people the opportunity to listen to music 🙂   If you would like a certain song to be posted, just send me the youtube link to the song and I will schedule it for you.

I wanted to give my condolences to Nick Peterson and his family and friends. And also to Steve Thorne and his family and friends.  May you guys rest up in there in heaven!  🙁

Rickie Traeger: July 15th

So I been sitting here thinking about a few random things. So instead of thinking about them inside my head, why not post them on my website and hear everyone elses thoughts and opinions on them

*  Years ago, I was going down the road and watched a small airplane go into a tiny cloud, and never came back out.  Yes, it sounds weird but thats exactly what happened. I dunno if I have ever said this experience publicly or not, I will probably write something up on it at a later date if I havent.  But back on topic… This still baffles me to this day.

* I have gained some weight, so I need to find a decent diet. Hopefully one that still lets me drink my sweet tea lol.

*  They are coming out with a new flight simulator. But not only is it for PC, it will be on the Xbox as well. So I am wondering if it is going to be realistic, or going to be “arcade” type of flying? If it was straight PC< I wouldn’t second guess it. But its coming out on a console and I dunno how realistic that is going to be on a console.

  • Speaking of Flight simulator. I am popping off to go do a few flights

Rickie Traeger: Bittersweet last few days

So it has been a bittersweet last few days.

It was the 4th of July, my birthday, NASCAR is back on and warm weather.  Been pretty good 🙂

Now the sad part 🙁   I know a few people that has passed away in the last few days ;(

I won’t say the names, for privacy reasons.   But god has a few more angels on his shoulders now.

I found a badass song, take a listen to it.

The bad is pretty damn good as well!

Rickie Traeger: Quick Blog Post…………

So it is technically my birthday now. Needless to say like every year on my birthday, I take the day off from RS. So do not expect much posting for the next 24-48 hours.

Hopefully everyone had a good 4th of July!  Kinda weird for me, because I enjoy going to the downtown fireworks. But this year it was canceled. So what we did was drive around town to watch people setting them off.  We got to see some pretty good ones.  We also went and watched the speedway fireworks.  Those were pretty good. We also watched Macy’s 4th of July on TV.

Rickie Traeger: Holy Cow July 4th Events Are Canceled Because Of A Virus…

So here it is Friday morning on July 3rd 2020 at 3:36 am as I write this.

You are probably asking yourself, what is going on in my head at 3:36am.   If not, then you probably are now, LOL.   But back on topic.  I am sitting here and as crazy as it sounds, I just realized how messed up July 4th is going to be this year. You know we think about things, and we don’t really “think” about them until that one time, then it hits us.  And that is what happened. We all have been told that July 4th events have been canceled due to Covid-19. So we were all aware of it, but I guess it kinda went in one ear and out the other.  Until just a few minutes ago…

I just realized my favorite holiday of the year, July 4th is canceled. As is holy cow, there will be nothing going on this year.  Here it is July 3rd and normally every year I am planning and thinking about the parade and laying out on the lawn at Davis Park looking up at the fireworks. Kinda planning out the days events.  But as I sit here this year, instead of planning tomm. events I am just realizing how this years July 4th is going to be like.  We all know that weather plays a role in the events. This year is different. A virus called Covid-19 ruined the plans this year. Who would of ever dreamed a virus would be cancelling July 4th???  My whole lifetime that has never happened…  But yet here we all sit on July 3rd at 3:44 am now 2020, and knowing tomm. July 4th events will not happen.  Crazy…

July 4th is always about celebrating our Freedom. Spending time with our loved ones. Eating good food. Listening to our favorite songs on the radio. Laying out in the sun. Did I mention eating good food, lol. And going downtown to watch the parade. Then going over to Davis Park to listen to the music and laying out on the Davis Park lawn with hundreds of others as we watch the fireworks display. Then the long dreaded traffic jam as we head home.    Now that is July 4th!

What are we going to do this year???
